      What this product is for

This 3/4 in x 10 ft (19 mm x 3.05 m) Schedule 40 rigid PVC conduit is used to route and protect insulated conductors in electrical raceway systems. It is suited to residential and commercial wiring where a nonmetallic, corrosion-resistant conduit is required.

      Use for

Use for above-ground or underground raceway runs where grey electrical PVC conduit is specified, including service runs, branch circuits, and outdoor installations with compatible fittings and supports. A typical trade rule of thumb is that 3/4 in conduit is often selected when more conductor capacity is needed than 1/2 in conduit can comfortably provide.

      Avoid for

Avoid using this conduit where a wiring method with higher mechanical protection is required, or where local code, site conditions, or project specifications call for another raceway type. Do not use plumbing PVC in place of electrical conduit.

      Best for

Best for electricians and contractors needing a lightweight conduit that is easier to handle than metal raceway and suitable for damp or corrosive environments. It is a practical choice for residential and light commercial electrical work in Canada.

      Installed in

Commonly installed in homes, commercial buildings, utility areas, exterior walls, and underground trench runs, subject to local electrical code and proper installation practices.

      Why this product exists

Rigid PVC conduit provides a nonmetallic raceway option for protecting conductors while resisting rust and many corrosive conditions. Schedule 40 is commonly chosen where standard wall conduit is acceptable and extra wall thickness of Schedule 80 is not required.

      Compared with similar products

Compared with EMT, rigid PVC conduit will not rust and is commonly preferred for underground or wet-location raceways. Compared with Schedule 80 PVC, Schedule 40 is lighter and commonly used where additional impact protection is not required. Actual suitability depends on installation conditions and local electrical code.
